Embracing the essence of artisanal craftsmanship, warmth, and textured elements, the design reimagines origami shapes as the humble, sacred handmade quilt and celebrates the 'folding in' of old and new cultural traditions, as well as existing and sustainably produced materials, to the city of brotherly love.

The inspiration for the Sustainable Philadelphia logo came from an article I read about building the population of freshwater mussels on the Delaware River to help control pollution levels. The 'S" is made of two linked mussel shapes.
